Comparison of Rongeurs Repair

The before pictures shown below represent evidence that some instrument repair companies make shortcut repairs without their clients noticing. How come?

Simply because the techinicians think of the fastest way to repair an instrument. As a result, many instruments although ”repaired”, may have significantly shorter life expectancies.

For example, when this rongeur was sent for repair, the technician did not take the time to unscrew the screws and to sandblast and polish underneath the springs. Resulting in accumulated corrosion that lead to the spring breaking prematurely.

If it had been unscrewed and polished underneath, this problem would never have occurred.
